The Good News

The reason we're here is to tell you about Him.

The very reason we exist is to tell you about God’s love and His free gift of Grace.  God is in a good mood. He’s not mad at you.  In fact, He loves you so much and desires for you to know the power of His love and grace. He has a plan for your life! You can know His plan and walk in it to the fullest.

Many spend their lives trying to earn God's approval by following rules, attending religious services, or being a good person; the truth is that the only way to a fulfilling life and an eternal future in heaven is through a relationship with Jesus Christ.

1) God loves you.

Read John 3:16, God loves you with an everlasting love that cannot be fathomed; it is so boundless that it can only be known by faith. Jesus was made sin (what God hates) so that you might become that which God loves, (righteousness). You can exchange your sin for his righteousness. Could you ask for greater evidence of love? Calvary is proof that God loves and longs to save you. Admit to yourself that, God loves me. (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:4-5)

2) You are a sinner.

We have all sinned against God. Sin is breaking God’s law, through unbelief and rebellion. All persons are "sinners" in that they disobey God. Sin is choosing to go your own way and do your own thing as opposed to being obedient to God.
(Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:10; Romans 5:12)

3) Sin separates you from God.

God is holy. Sin upon your life forms a barrier that prevents you from entering into relationship with God. In His Great Love, God built a bridge that allows us to come to Him. God sent His Son to be born on earth and clothed in flesh. He lived among men as our example. He was tempted in all things but did not sin. He gave His sinless life upon a murderous cross. His blood was perfect and built the sovereign bridge by which we can be cleansed from sin, and adopted into the family of God! If we choose to reject God’s Son, who was made to be sin on our behalf, you forfeit the position in His family he purchased for you. If you reject God’s plan of salvation, you are headed for an eternity that the Bible calls Hell.
(Isaiah 59:2; Romans 3:23)

4) You can't save yourself.

People often think that through their efforts they can overcome the sin barrier between themselves and God. That isn't true. There's nothing you can do to restore the broken relationship with God. You can't earn God's salvation.
(Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; Romans 4:4-5)

5) God sent His son Jesus to remove the sin barrier.

Jesus paid the entire price for all of our sins, past present and future. No man can build a way to get to God through works or some other god-image. God Himself made, The Way! What you cannot do for yourself, Jesus Christ has done for you! He is the bridge that crosses the sin barrier between you and God. And the Good News is that when Jesus died on the cross for you and rose from the dead, He demonstrated that His payment was acceptable to God! By taking your punishment on Himself, Jesus made a way for relationship with God! (1 Peter 2:23; Romans 5:8; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 10:9)

6) You can receive Jesus Christ through faith.

Faith is placing your trust in what Jesus has done for you rather than trusting your own efforts to restore fellowship with God. Faith is complete reliance on Christ to put you in right relationship with God, allowing Him to live His life through you. Faith also involves repentance or genuine sorrow for sin and willingness to turn away from sin. There is no other Name under heaven that has been given to men, by which we can be saved. (John 14:6; Acts 16:31; Acts 4:12: Romans 10:9-10)

Would you like to receive salvation, know that your sins are forgiven and become adopted into the family of God?

The Bible says to confess with your mouth and believe in your heart as you pray a prayer like this one:

Dear God,

I admit that I am a sinner. (Express sorrow or repentance for your sins). I believe that you sent Your only Son from heaven to earth. I believe that He carried my sin and shame on the cross. He took my place when He died for me. I confess that I am a sinner and can’t save myself. I believe in my heart that God raised Jesus from the dead. He’s alive forever. He wants me to know the new life that He gives. I now gladly accept you by faith as my Lord and Savior and commit my life to You. All of my past sins are washed away, because of the blood of Jesus. Thank you for eternal salvation. Thank you for New Life! Jesus I worship You! Heaven is now my home! I am saved! Amen! (Thank Him)

If you just prayed to receive Christ for the first time, please give us a call (270.821.7777) or email us and let us know! We would love to help you grow, because accepting Christ is just the beginning of an awesome life-long journey!

A New Life in Christ

Now that you have made the most important decision of your life, it's important to make a few changes to keep your life on track with Christ. First, make today a day of new beginnings in your life and don't look back! Know this, God has forgiven and forgotten your past and has a bright future ahead of you. Romans 8:1 says there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. When condemning voices remind you of your past, don't forget, God no longer remembers your sin anymore. God's Word says as far as the east is from the west, so your sins are from His memory.

Baptism

Once you make a decision for Christ, we encourage you to take that next step of faith and follow in believer's baptism. The water itself is not special and does not bring salvation but a demonstration that you no longer are your old self; you have been buried, and now resurrected in Christ and walk in His power, purpose and love. Baptism in water is a declaration to the world that a believer has died with Christ and has been raised with him to walk in newness of life.
